Glendale Youth Sports was conceived and founded by the late Cecilia DeGuere in the early 1950's. GYS is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Ohio. Each activity of the board is to foster and engender the physical and moral development of the youth taking part in any activity sponsored by GYS. The purpose is to ensure that all children living with a custodial adult who resides within the Glendale Elementary School attendance area, are offered the opportunity to participate in an organized team sports program. It is the mission of the GYS Board to involve as many children of Glendale in sports as we possibly can.
The programs include:
Spring Soccer: Registration 3rd weekend in January / Season March through early June
Fall Soccer: Registration 3rd weekend in May / Season August through November
TBall & Baseball: Registration 3rd weekend in January / Season April through mid-June
Basketball: Registration 3rd weekend in September / Season November through February
Registration forms are available on this website (See above) and at the Village Office, 30 Village Square. No child will be permitted to practice or play in a game until this signed registration form and fee is turned in to the Athletic Director at the Glendale Village Office.
Sports scholarships are available.
The Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, 7:30 PM at the Village offices, 30 Village Square. They are open to the public. For further information, contact Jane Jackson at (513) 771-7200.
