The Village of Glendale is a northern suburb of the City of Cincinnati located close to a major shopping complex (Tri-County) and in close proximity to two major Interstates (I-75 & I-275) and with quick access to a third major Interstate (I-71). Although Glendale enjoys all of the benefits of being close to a large, vital city, its residents enjoy a quiet, peaceful life in the shade of the green canopy of large trees that densely populate the village. Glendale is truly an oasis in the concrete and asphalt of the surrounding city.

When the village was laid out it was planned around the lay of the land, without any consideration being given to a grid, as in most towns. The streets of Glendale's Historic District meander around the moderately hilly terrain as if in no hurry to get anyplace in particular, lending a park-like feeling to all who pass through. From the period architecture, to the real gas streetlights, to the stone curbs, traveling through Glendale's Historic District leaves one with the feeling of being back in the quieter, slower-paced time of the nineteenth century.
